0I Killed Jesus
Perhaps one of the hardest truths about the Christian faith, is the admittance of our contribution of sin to the story. A while back, I purchased a shirt with bold, white letters that reads, “I killed Jesus”. It’s not until you get closer that you see the darkened grey text that follows reading, “& Jesus saved me”. And in the same color grey below that is the passage, “…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst. (1 Timothy 1:15)”. As you can imagine, the bold white letters makes many uncomfortable, from the Christian to the nominal believer, to the lost person. You can see it on the faces at the mall or grocery store as I walk past them. It’s an uncomfortable truth that no one can ignore, “I killed Jesus”. More often than not, it opens the dialogue which can explain to a Christian or lead to a gospel chat with an unbeliever.
…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst.
– 1 Timothy 1:15
Soli Deo Gloria!
