God Can’t Do Anything Without My Permission

I don’t think I could have come up with a more appropriate, yet blasphemous title if I had to.  And I didn’t.  Really.  That statement is a direct quote from none other than Myles Munroe as he is conversing with the infamous Benny Hinn.  This is what a heretical breed of teachers today pollute the airwaves with in the name of Christianity. Such teachers include Creflo Dollar, Benny Hinn, Fred Price, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Paula White, Eddie Long, Jesse Duplantis, and Myles Munroe. They belong to a movement known as the “word faith” movement.

Essentially the word faith movement teaches that we have the power to speak things into existence.  Or in its fullest moment, how to force God to do something just because we speak it.  If that is not bad enough, it’s not the worst of it.  From there it grows into even more perverted teachings about our Lord and Savior.  For example, consider this teaching that “Jesus went to hell in our place and was tormented” per Joyce Meyer:

“Jesus paid on the cross and went to hell in my place. Then as God had promised, on the third day Jesus rose from the dead. The scene in the spirit realm went something like this: God rose up from his throne and said to demon powers tormenting the sinless son of God, ‘let him go.’ Then the resurrection power of Almighty God went through hell and filled Jesus. On earth his grave where they had buried him was filled with light as the power of God filled his body. He was resurrected from the dead — the first born again man.”1

The movement starts with a teaching that we are “spirit beings” then morphs to a doctrine teaching that we are “little gods”.  That in turn grows to a false teaching that we are empowered to a point that when we speak something, God has no choice but to do it.  The Bible is far from silent on these false teachings (Romans 16:17, 2 Peter 2:1-3, 1 John 4:1, Matthew 7:15-20, 1 John 4:1-3, 1 Timothy 4:1-5, 2 Timothy 4:3, 1 Timothy 6:20-21, 2 John 1:7-11, Revelation 22:18, Acts 20:29).

The 1hr and 57min documentary below will show this pattern and provide you with a solid background of this dangerous, heretical movement.  For this is another gospel that the Apostle Paul warned about in Galatians 1:8.

Soli Deo Gloria!
